PETRONAS Switch for Xtra BTS

Salam,

As promised, I'll share the behind the scene story of Petronas Switch for Xtra competition.
Our team's mission started on Friday, 2nd Nov where, we had to go to Wangsa Maju Section 2 Petronas Station. We gathered there at 8am and set the place up, make up etc and starting our mission at 10am.

Our first mission was to sell 20 units of boboiboy figurines within 2 hours. It was quite challenging, as some people do not even know whom boboiboy is. In addition, since it was a working day and our location was at housing area, there were not many people. This was where we need to use the power of social media to tweet our location and our challenge to ask for our family, friends and Scha’s fans to help to complete the challenge. In the end, we managed to sell 27 units of boboiboy figurines in 1 hour and 30minutes.

After completing this mission, we were given our next mission. Our second mission was to drive up to Penang and finish off 60 apam guan, 10 plates of nasi kandar and 10 plates of Pasembur. Oh no!! There’s a lot of eating there. Luckily, I do have a big appetite but still, it’s a bit too much.

The next day, we drove all the way to Penang, stopping at Petronas Simpang Pulai for a short rest. We head to Jalan Burma to Apam Guan stall to complete the first part of our second mission. We had to finish 60 of this apam. Each of each started to eat three each before we saw some passerby. We gave out some of the apam to the passerby to help us complete this challenge. Since, we have to save up some room in our stomach for the other challenges; we decide to give out some of the apam to the cars that are passing by the place. It was like a drive through snack services for the drivers.

Challenge 2 Part 1: COMPLETE
Once we completed this challenge, we head to Line Clear Nasi Kandar where we had to finish 10 plates of nasi kandar and each of us MUST finish a plate each. Therefore, we gathered seven other people in the area to help us complete the challenge. We even managed to get help from an Australian guy who passed by the area. It was a bit hard for us to gather people to help us as it was just after lunch hour and most people and already eaten their lunch.
By the time we finished this challenge, we were really full and yet we have to finish 10 plates of pasembur for the next part of the challenge. Once we reached the pasembur stall at Union Road, it started to rain. NOOOO!!! Due to the rain, we can hardly find people to help us finish of this challenge. Then I guess luck was on our side, we saw a newlywed couple who just completed their outdoor photo shoot and we asked them and their family, friends and photographer to help us complete the challenge.

So there we have, completed the second challenge and by this time, we were full. Therefore, we thought that we finish shooting for the day. But wait, there was a third challenge, WHATT!! This cannot be happening. Our third challenge was to finish 10 bowls of cendol and its not even the normal size cendol bowl but a giant size cendol bowl. What to do, we still have to complete our challenge, so I took a deep breath and start eating the cendol with the 7 people that we had gathered. Halfway through the bowl, my stomach had funny feeling but managed to stay put and not letting out my stomach content. After much struggle, we managed to finish all 10 bowls of cendol and call it a day.

A team photo before Scha head to the airport
With some of the production crew
I never had so much to eat in one day. It’s an experience that I’ll never forget. After we were done with the shooting, Scha head straight to the airport to fly back to KL as she has another schedule the next day in Malacca. As for my partner, Devi, and me we were sent to our hotel to rest for the night before heading back to KL the next day. We were so full that we didn’t even have dinner that night. We just check in, clean ourselves and head to bed straight away.
Even though it was tiring, we had a lot of fun and definitely a memory that I will not forget. Stay tune for our videos and don’t forget to watch the videos when they come out as the team with the highest views will win RM10,000. Do pray for me and I’ll update here soon.

Till then~
