From Secret Lab to Shanghai

I went to Escape Room this morning with my colleagues. We went to the one at SetiaWalk Mall, Puchong as this was the only place that has the The Secret Lab theme room. We specifically want this theme as we worked in the lab. I went there with zero expectation as I have no clue what it is. All I know is that we have to find a way out from the room, within the given time limit.

Once we reached there, we were told that the room was the hardest and the scariest room of all the rooms available. Since we were a bit noisy, the staff thought that we were on school holidays. We laughed when he said that statement as all of us were already working. Once we went inside, the staff there briefed us on some rules and the scenario of our room.

The scenario was, we are all journalist and we’ve been tipped that there’s a mad scientist that does experiments with live human. Now, we’re in the scientist’s house to dig up the story but the scientist found out that we’re here. We have to escape from his house before he finds us and use us for his experiments. The problem is, we have to find the secret lab to escape as the escape door is located inside the secret lab.

We have to solve a total of two puzzles before we found our way to the secret lab. Once in the lab, we need to solve three puzzles before we can escape. To spice things up, the secret lab was pitch black with eerie sounds that makes you spook yourselves. We were trying to solve the last puzzle when the time was up. We were so close to solving it but all of our anatomy knowledge was not enough for us to crack the last code to open the door. It was a great experience. I would really suggest you to come here and have fun. I want to try out other rooms. Maybe next time we’ll go for the Crime Scene or Mystery Room themed room.

After we tire ourselves at the escape room, we head to the fourth floor of the mall to Grand Shanghai food theme park. Seriously, you felt like you’re in China with all the decorations and the small shops. We had lunch here before heading home.
