Indonesia with Besties: Bandung

Day 1: Our flight to from KL to Bandung was early morning (6.35am). We started the day by waking up late. We were supposed to depart from my house at 4.30am but we woke up at 4.40am. We got ready in a rush and luckily, we already checked in online and we have not check in luggage. Therefore, being a bit late was still ok for us. My brother drove us to the airport at 140km/h. I just close my eyes and prayed that we arrive safely at the airport and not miss the flight. In the end, we managed to board on the flight and safely landed at Bandung Husein Sastranegara Airport. The airport was very small and it looks like only Airasia fly from KL to Bandung as I didn’t see any other airline besides local airlines.
All set and ready to go

Safely arrived in Bandung
Once we passed the immigration, we took a cab and went straight to our accommodation at Hotel Patradissa, Jalan Wastukencana. We checked in and saw that our room was so big. We booked a family room that can fit up to 6 people. The room costs Rp375K for weekday and Rp400K for weekend. The reason why we booked such a big room was because other friends were supposed to join us but the cancelled their tickets last minutes.
Once we freshened up, we took a cab to Bandung Supermal, a shopping mall about 20 minutes away from our place. The reason we came here was not to shop, but to go to Trans Studio, an indoor theme park. The park was quite big for an indoor park and since we came on a weekday, the place was not that crowded. It took us about 8 hours to finish playing with all the attractions present here.

Around 6pm, we had our dinner at the mall before we went to Jalan Riau for some shopping. None of us bought anything; we just surveyed the price and went back to our hotel at 9pm.

Day 2: We rented a car with a driver today; the driver came and picked us up after breakfast at the hotel. The first place that we went was Tangkuban Perahu. This place was a volcanic crater and we even went down all the way to Kawah Ratu. Throughout the journey we felt like celebrities as a lot of the sellers followed us throughout the journey trying to sell us their items and mind you the items that they well were expensive.

We walked around Kawah Ratu then we head to Kawah Damos. We took a tour a tour for the 1.2km journey to Kawah Damos. It costs us Rp.300K for one hour where the guide will tell us stories about the area throughout the journey. Once we reached Kawah Damos, we soaked our feet in the warm volcanic pool. It was very relaxing as my feet got jelly on our way here. We also used the volcanic mud to rub our feet and hand. They believed that the volcanic mud is good for the skin. Our tour guide even gave us some to bring back home.

After that, we stopped briefly at a tea field and then we went strawberry picking at Lembang as one of my friend never picked strawberry in her life. Next, we stopped at Restoran Sederhana for lunch. This restaurant served padang food where they will put various dishes on the table and you will pick whatever dishes that you want and they will charge you only the plates that you eat. I really love the food here and the price was very reasonable. It costs Rp.78K for the three of us.

After lunch, we head to Jalan Dago for shopping time. We went to various shops and even head back to Jalan Riau as this was our chance to shop in Bandung as we’re heading to Jakarta tomorrow. Before heading back to our accommodation, we had sundanese food for dinner at Kembaran Cafe. I tried the avocado juice here, which I don’t really like it because it was so thick and filling.
