Binna Burra Weekend

It was a long weekend with public holiday on Monday and it was filled with spending time with nature. This trip was a last minute thing. My lab mates were planning to go camping at Binna Burra (not far from Nerang) and they had 1 more spot in the car, so they invited me to join them. As the AUG netball was postponed to the next weekend, I had nothing planned for the weekend. To avoid getting bored at home doing nothing, I decided to join them.

The journey starts on Saturday afternoon and arrived at Binna Burra around sunset. That night we made bonfire, cook dinner on the fire and talked until midnight. This is my first time hanging out with my lab mates outside the lab. As much as I like their company in the lab, I like their company outside the lab more. Maybe it's because we were outside our working environment.

The next day was our big day as we will be doing the full day hike on Coomera Circuit which is about 20km. We started the journey with 8 of us close together, but when we got to the first lookout, we were already split into 2 groups of 4. At the first lookout, we saw a soothing view of Coomera Fall. Seriously, it was beautiful. We waited nearly half an hour for the other group but they never turned up. So, as we were tired waiting for them we decided to continue with our journey. The walking track was quite slippery as it rained the day before, so we had to be careful. But things don't always turn out the way we want it to be which lead to some minor accidents during the walk.We saw many falls along our journey. The funny thing was everybody was excited for the first 5 falls that we'd encountered but after that, we can't be bother to look at the falls anymore as they were too many of them.

Even though it was supposed to be a full day hike, we only took about 5 hours to complete the circuit. All in all, it was tiring and I can't seem to feel my leg after all the walking but it was a good experience.
