Queen's Hostel, Penang

Image
Salam, Today I wanted to review a hostel that I stayed during my recent trip to Penang. The hostel is called Queen's Hostel and it's located at Queen Street, George Town. They also call themselves female friendly hostel which I kind of agree as I felt safe when I stayed there and equipped with girly stuffs. In front of the hostel Colourful stairs to the first floor I stayed at the dorm room upstairs. It was very comfortable and you feel very safe as the upstairs dorm is secured with security lock. The dorm beds are canopy-like and you will have your own private space. The canopy beds on the first floor The individual canopy beds I love these individual beds I would really recommend the dorm for female single traveler or if you're traveling with girlfriends. But if you do have male companions traveling with you, they can stay at the private room on the ground floor. Private room on the ground floor Reception and ground floor They have all

Day 10: Our last day Down Under as we’re scheduled to fly back to Malaysia the next day. We started to the day by driving to West End Market. This was the place that we used to go at least once a fortnight to do grocery shopping as you can get a variety of fresh goods here for a reasonable price. Those days we took the citycat across the river and then bus with our trolley or Cole’s shopping bag to buy our pantry needs.  West End Market, just how I remembered it Our favourite vege and fruit stall during uni days We had our breakfast of Hungary doughnut, Langos and fresh fruits, then head we drove down to Gold Coast.  Choosing fruits for our breakfast Hungary doughnut, Langos, Strawberries and Cherries for breakfast Our destination for the day was Harbour town for some shopping before we went back home. We (I to be exact) shopped a lot even though there wasn’t much sale going on. Shopping time at Harbourtown D uring lunch, we bumped into familiar faces (Latape a

Day 8: Today was a traveling day. We didn’t have anything planned for the day, all we know we are stopping at Glenn Innes to spend the night as we booked an accommodation there last night. From Newcastle we took the New England Highway. We took a different route back to Brisbane, as we didn’t want to follow the same route hoping to experience and/or see something different to our way down to Sydney. Scenery along the New England Highway The parallel route to New England Highway is the Pacific Highway, which uses the coastal route. This route is the inner land route and usually less busy than the Pacific Highway. Even though it’s the inner land route, don’t dream of going above the speed limit as there’s static speed cameras along the route and mind you it will cost you AUD300 if you ever caught of speeding in Australia. We passed by a few towns along the route and for some towns, the highway passes through their town centre. The town centers were very small with single s

Day 6: We had breakfast at our accommodation and made our way to Port Stephens. The journey was about 1.5 hours and our first stop there was Anna Bay for sand boarding. This is one of the tourist attractions at Port Stephens. We parked our car at the car park area and took a shuttle van from the car park area to the sand dunes area. This activity costs AUD20 for unlimited time. You can stay here as long as you want. The sand dune area. It's steeper than meets the eye When we reached the sand dunes area, it was nearly 11 in the morning and the sun started to give out its heat. At first, I was quite scared as the dunes looked so high but after a few tries I was enjoying myself. We had to climb up the hill, which was a bit tiring, and come down using the board that they provided us with. We stayed here until 1pm and by that time; we were the only ones at the dune area because it was so hot. We got sun burnt due to this activity. All set to sand board. The red van at the
