The Bridge over Cam River = Cambridge

Yesterday I joined the International Office day trip to Cambridge. This is the second time that I went to Cambridge. The last time I was there I didn't manage to travel much as it was winter and we only made a short stop to freshen ourselves as our flight was delayed. I was really excited about the trip and was loking forward to what Cambridge has to offer.

So, here are my suggestions of 5 things to do in Cambridge for a day trip:

1. Punting. Your visit to Cambridge will not be complete without punting on the Cam River. However, it depends on the season that you visit. It might b a bit chilly to do it during winter plus the daylight is a bit limited. You can choose whether you want to go for a guided tour or self-punt. I would really recommend the guided tour as you'll learn about the colleges along The Backs. You can buy the tickets at the Tourist Information Center or online (it's cheaper to buy it online).

2. Visit the colleges. Especially King's College Chapel, as the architecture is just spectacular. Though I didn't manage to visit it when I was there as it was close due to concert later on the day.
Kings College. The chapel is the one on the left which took some time to build.

3. Market Square. This square is at the center of Cambridge's city, opens every Monday to Saturday. You can find variety of items here from books, clothes, food, bags, and many more. If you have a chance to visit the market, do try their Belgian Waffles. It's the best and tastes as close to the one in Belgium.

4. Corpus Clock. It's a unique looking clock on the corner of Bene't Street and Trumpington Street; product of traditional mechanical clock making. In 2008, it was listed as one of Time's Best Invention. When you look at the clock it seems the animal on top is moving the clock.

5. Fitzwilliam Museum. The museum belongs to the university that housed arts and antiques. The admission fr the museum is free.

P/S: Don't forget to keep a lookout for the singing binman as well when you're there.
