Hi all, I just came back from a weekend road trip to Wales. It was a 4 days 3 nights with the Snowdon gang plus another family. As my sister said, geng makcik-makcik. Since I'm currently residing in Bristol, I have to go to Coventry on Xmas Eve to meet up with the others as our journey starts from there.  Day 1 We were supposed to start our journey at 5 am as daylight was very limited during winter season and we wanted to get as much out of it as possible. However, my friend's car decided that it was too cold and want to stay in bed (read: car won't start). Luckily she has good neighbors that helped her out and managed to jump start the car with another car. At about 6.45 am we started our journey to the first pit stop of Brecon Beacon National Park. I've recently heard of this place from my sister. They have 2 branches in the UK: London and Cardiff. Since we were in Cardiff yesterday for my sister's birthday, we decided to check the place out. This place is so simple. They only have 3 things on their menu; Burger, Lobster or Lobster Roll with fries, salad, and lemon and herb butter sauce on the side. All of the three items cost £20. Personally I think the price is a bit steep for burger and the lobster roll, that's why we chose Lobster. Hungry faces waiting for our food So, if you're craving for some Lobster; I would definitely recommend this place. But get ready to be messy and it will get messy half way through. Though it might not look big, believe me; it is. I was so full at the end of the meal. So if you have a small appetite, do share it. Hi again! I went for a day trip to Cardiff yesterday for my sister's birthday. It was an impromptu visit as initially I did not have any plans. But I had to get her away for her housemate to prep for her surprise party. We arrived Cardiff around noon and started walking around the city area. We started with Cardiff Market and bought some Welsh cakes. It's like normal pancake but thicker and sweeter. Entrance to the castle costs £12 for adults, £10.50 for students and seniors, and £9 for children between 5-16 years. The fees come with audio guide, so you can learn about the history of the castle itself. Quite a good deal right? Usually you have to pay extra for audio guide. Hello all, Another update from my holiday. Though I'm in Venice right now and I've been writing since I was in Amsterdam but I still haven't finish with my story in UK. On Christmas eve, I went to the place where I've stayed for 4 years which was Swansea. It just felt so good to be back at the place where I grew up. Nothing much change except that more roads are one way and it was more packed than it was 10 years ago. I went to my old house, nothing much was different but they cut down the bush and they painted the door white. Besides that, everything else was the same. In Swansea, we went to Mumble's pier where we can see the light house. Now, we need to pay 50p if we want to go onto the pier, it used to be free. Well, things change over the years. The city was basically the same but the islamic centre at the centre is bigger. They extend it until I feel like having a treasure hunt in it. Owh how I miss the good old days in Swansea. Today is my fourth day in UK. Thankfully I've gotten used to the local time but I still can't get used to the cold weather. It's freezing cold up here. The weather is so different from winter in Australia. Since we got our car, we've been to couple of places but due to short duration of daylight; there's not many places that we can go to. The first place that we went to was Cambridge. At first, Cambridge was just an overnight stop but due to the flight delay we only reached there the next morning. We went to see Cambridge Uni which was quite beautiful as the buildings are classic with brick wall and old architecture. We want to go into one of the residential college but it only open to public till noon and we arrived there at 1pm. I would love to go into the college, it imagined it would be like the halls in Harry Potter movies. Next stop is Standford-Upon-Avon which was the birthplace of the famous William Shakespeare.
