The Zombie Invasion

Image
Yesterday I went for Zombie Run 2014 at Putrajaya in conjunction with Hari Belia 2014. There are various time slots and each time slots last 1 hour and we registered for the 5pm slot. Since there’s a few event going on at the same time in Putrajaya, we decided to gather at Wan Ling’s house, parked our car there and car pool to Putrajaya.  We left Wan Ling’s house about 3.30pm and reached Putrajaya at 4.10pm. There was congestion on the road heading towards Precinct 2, 3 and 4 so we decided to just park along the road side and walked to Precinct 4 as the Zombie Run was next to Galleria Precinct 4. The walk to the starting line was about 2km, but we had no choice as we can’t get any closer parking to the event place.  Once we reached at the registration counter, we registered ourselves and we were given the race bibs. The bibs have a small triangle flag attached to it which will represent our lives during the run. We have to keep the flag safe from the zombies during t

Mojo Jojo

Hi all, Today I won’t be talking about the villain in the cartoon power puff girl, but a cafe called Mojo Nail Cafe located in SS2, PJ. I got to know about this cafe when I saw a high tea offer at Groupon, so my friend and I decided to buy the deal. We had zero knowledge about the cafe and last Friday when I remembered about the deal that we bought a few months ago, we realized that the deal will expire this weekend. So, I called the cafe on Monday and book for appointment today.  Interior of the cafe Open style drink preparation area We went for lunch today to redeem the high tea deal. The deal consists of drinks, food and a pot of ice cream. But I don’t remember them serving us the ice cream. But the food was so-so only; I wouldn’t come here for the high tea again. Ice lemon tea & and hot latte Our 3-tier high tea set for 2 Bottom tier: waffles, spaghetti, cheese cake and coleslaw Middle tier: fruit salad, butter cookies, sandwiches and chocol

Run Chicken Run

After one year and a half of not running, I finally ran again this morning for Kenny Rogers Chicken Run. The unique thing about this run was you have to balance an egg on an ice cream cone during the run. The organizers claimed that the distance of the run was 4.8km but when my friend tracked the run it was 6.55km.  Early Sunday morning All runners gathered at Sunway Lagoon entrance at 7am to collect our egg, cone and entrance ticket to Sunway Lagoon. Yes, we were entitled to one day pass into Sunway Lagoon but as all of us wanted to rest as its Sunway, our tickets just burned like that.  Getting in the mood to run with an egg My running partner We finally flagged off at 8.20am after the men’s started their run. Since I was out of practice, I only managed to run 1.5km before I lose my strength and started to walk. It was a mistake on my part to stop running as after that I started to get stitches on my right abdomen which slowed me down. The sun was already up by t

The Day I Pampered Myself

Today I took mum out for her belated Mother’s Day gift. We went to Amante in Bukit Tinggi, Klang for full body hot stone massage. I got a good deal from Groupon and it only costs RM39 for one and a half hour full body hot stone massage session instead of RM188. This was my first massage experience in Malaysia and the second massage of my lifetime (yes, I’ve only been to a full body massage once in the past back in 2009). Our appointment was at 2pm. When we reached there, we were shown to our treatment room. The treatment room was very simple and spacious. We had the treatment room for the both of us.  Then we had to change into the items that they prepared for us and the massage session started. Even though it was a hot stone massage, the masseuse gave me a back massage first. The massage was very nice and relaxing, though at some point it did hurt a bit but I think it was because my muscle was tense at that area. The masseuse also gave me a hand and shoulder massage before using t

2D1N in GohTong

Image
I just came back from a 2D 1N trip to Gohtong Jaya. This trip that was postponed for quite some time as some of us always had plans during weekend. We finally decided to go this weekend, even though it was Mother’s Day weekend. But we’re running out of time and Selvi’s leaving Malaysia soon. The whole purpose of this trip was to celebrate Selvi’s last days as a single lady as a month from now, she’ll be someone’s wife.     After work on Friday, the 7 of us head to Gohtong in two cars. The journey was not that long, it was only about 40 minutes from Petaling Jaya and since we finished our work early, we managed to skip the after work traffic. We reached Mawar (Whatsapp autocorrect it as Me War) Apartment at around 5pm. Once we’re there, we put all of our stuff in the apartment and head down to the BBQ area and prepared for our Hot Pot dinner.  Heading towards GohTong Jaya after work Heading towards the BBQ area There were lots of veggies that Wan Ling’s mum bought for us

A Date with Datin M

I just got back from meeting one of my high school bestie. It's been a few months since we saw each other. She just resigned her work and will be heading to the Holy Land of Mecca sometime end of this month or early next month to work there. Lucky her to be able to be on the holy land for the next one year.  Well, we met over dinner at Sunway Pyramid (my favorite spot). Knowing her, I know she wanted to eat at a place that sells good food and have dessert. Initially I wanted to suggest Tong Pak Fu, but I recently went there so we decided to go to MOF Japanese Cafe. This is my second time here, the first time was with my colleague for lunch. Since we didn't have much time previously, we didn't try their dessert. So despite that this is my second time here, it's my first time trying the dessert.  These are what we had just now: Saba Bento Set, RM28.80 Food for sick people: Kino Kimchi Pot, RM 11.90. Dessert: Shiro Kurian, RM 13. There's variety of desse
