I just came back from a 2D 1N trip to
Gohtong Jaya. This trip that was postponed for quite some time as some of us
always had plans during weekend. We finally decided to go this weekend, even
though it was Mother’s Day weekend. But we’re running out of time and Selvi’s
leaving Malaysia soon. The whole purpose of this trip was to celebrate
Selvi’s last days as a single lady as a month from now, she’ll be someone’s
wife.
After work on Friday, the 7 of us head to
Gohtong in two cars. The journey was not that long, it was only about 40 minutes
from Petaling Jaya and since we finished our work early, we managed to skip the
after work traffic. We reached Mawar (Whatsapp autocorrect it as Me War)
Apartment at around 5pm. Once we’re there, we put all of our stuff in the
apartment and head down to the BBQ area and prepared for our Hot Pot dinner.

There were lots of veggies that Wan Ling’s
mum bought for us and the amount of food that we bought felt like we can feed a
troop of army. But there are only 7 girls to eat all of it. We set up 5
steamboat pots with different flavours of soup. We had a vegetarian pot
especially for Selvi with corn and potato soup, Sarawak laksa soup, chicken
soup, tom yam soup and spicy Schezuan soup. Though I think we went a bit overboard with the steam boat stuffs and we only
managed to finish half of the items that we bought. We also complemented the hotpot
with tropical punch soda with nata de coco.

After dinner, it was dark already and we were so full. So, we cleaned up and went for a walk around the apartment
ground. We played at the playground and finally went back to the apartment at
8.30pm. Then we cleaned ourselves and changed into our pyjamas for our pyjamas
sleepover. We did our nails while gossiping, sharing secrets and had sparkling
juice. By the time everybody did their nails, everyone was so sleepy even
though it was only half past 11. I didn’t even realize when I dozed off.
The outdoor park
was closed for the construction of the new 20th Century Fox Theme
Park which is expected to open in 2016.

It was a fun 2D 1N trip with my
colleagues. It’s the first outing together for some of us who didn’t go to Kuching.
It’s also nice to be having fun together outside the office environment. I hope
we will spend more times together like this.
Till then~
